Zanzibar: 3-Day Mikumi Safari & Uluguru Hills Hike

Day 1: Zanzibar to Morogoro

Begin your day by getting picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar, followed by a trip to the ferry terminal. Once you arrive, you will take the morning ferry to Dar es Salaam, where you will enjoy the fresh sea air and ocean views, followed by a train trip to Morogoro while taking in the beauty of Tanzania. Once you arrive, you will meet up with your local guide, who will brief you before you begin the hike. After this, you will hike in Uluguru Mountain on trails that are not commonly visited by tourists, as it is covered by lush green forests all around you. You will get to rest and cool off at the beautiful Choma Waterfalls, where you can swim in the natural pool. Once you are done, you will check into the hotel for a rest before you proceed to enjoy the evening.

Day 2: Full-Day Mikumi Safari
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will set out early for a game drive in Mikumi National Park, and this is the best time when all the animals will be moving around. Then you will visit the famous hippo pools and witness huge hippos playing and relaxing in the water, and also crocodiles will be spotted. Next, you will have lunch in the park. Then continue with an extensive game drive through other parts of the savannah as the sun sets, and you will witness an awesome view of the sun setting over the savannah. After this, you will head back to the hotel for an early rest.

Day 3: Return to Zanzibar
After breakfast, take your train back to Dar es Salaam, enjoy the countryside views one more time, and then head back to the ferry terminal or your hotel in Zanzibar. Your adventure ends here, full of wildlife, culture, and memories.
