Your first stop is the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its distinctive architecture and appearances in films like Gladiator. Stroll through the ancient corridors of the kasbah and immerse yourself in its timeless charm while marveling at its panoramic surroundings.

Afterward, continue to the tranquil city of Ouarzazate, aptly named "No Noise" for its serene atmosphere. Here, enjoy a leisurely lunch before heading to the stunning Dades Valley, also known as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs." The valley's dramatic rock formations and green oases make it a true visual treat. Your evening includes a delicious dinner and a relaxing stay at Kasbah Amazigh Hotel, set against the backdrop of Morocco’s natural beauty.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga

The journey continues along the renowned Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, leading to the majestic Todra Gorges. These breathtaking canyons, with their towering rock walls and flowing river, provide an incredible photo opportunity and a chance to explore the beauty of this iconic site. After soaking in the serene environment and enjoying lunch at a local café, you’ll head toward the golden sands of Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. End the day with a hearty dinner and a peaceful night at Auberge Desert Merzouga, located at the base of the impressive Erg Chebbi Dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga – Camel Trek – Desert Activities

On the third day, after breakfast, immerse yourself in the wonders of Merzouga with a variety of optional activities. Take a camel trek across the vast Erg Chebbi dunes, capturing the magic of the desert at sunset. Adventure enthusiasts can opt for sandboarding, quad biking, or buggy rides, while others may prefer a relaxing swim or exploring the desert’s tranquil surroundings. Visit nomadic families in the desert with a 4x4, where you’ll be warmly welcomed into their tents to enjoy tea and the famous Berber Pizza. As the day winds down, arrive at your desert camp for an enchanting evening under the stars. Enjoy traditional Berber music, a delicious dinner, and an unforgettable night in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (or End in Fez)

We took a 4-day, 3-night trip with Ando Travel, led by Haj, and had an unforgettable journey. We visited numerous amazing places, though I think the company could have provided a more detailed itinerary and improved the organization. The trip started with a drive from Marrakesh to Aït Benhaddou, without a guide, but we did enjoy a nice tea break at Salon Du The Panormaique. Upon arrival at Kasbah La Porte du Dadès, the hotel was comfortable, and I particularly enjoyed watching the sunset while having a delicious buffet dinner. The pool was closed for maintenance because of the weather, which was unavoidable. The following day, we explored Todgha Gorge and the Oasis viewpoint with our guide Moha, before heading to Sahara Albergue, where we took a camel ride and stayed in a luxury camp with amazing food. It was quite hot, as expected in July. On Day 3, we added an exciting quad bike tour with Ahmed and had a local/nomadic experience with Lahcen, both of which I highly recommend. On Day 4, we made a few stops on the way back and reached Marrakesh around 6 pm.

This tour is definitely worth it! A big thanks to Rarhib, our driver, who was incredibly kind. The extra night at the Sahara Hotel is really important to fully enjoy the dunes, the show, and to make the return journey in a single day. The only downside was the high prices at the tourist restaurants for lunch, but these aren’t mandatory. I brought some snacks with me, which was more than enough in the heat. I highly recommend this tour because it offers great value for money and is definitely worth the experience!
