About This Activity

Experience the magic of one of Türkiye’s most famous archaeological treasures with the Ephesus Night Tour from Marmaris. Departing from Marmaris around midday, you will travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach through the beautiful landscapes of the Aegean region while your guide introduces the history and culture of the area.

Your first stop is the peaceful House of the Virgin Mary, located on the slopes of Mount Koressos. Surrounded by pine forests, this sacred site is believed to be the place where Mary spent her final years. Visitors can explore the small stone house, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, and experience one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the Christian world.

The journey continues with a visit to a traditional ceramic workshop, where local artisans demonstrate techniques that have been passed down through generations. You will have the chance to learn about Turkish ceramic art and browse a selection of beautifully handcrafted pieces. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before heading to the highlight of the evening.

As sunset approaches, you will enter the magnificent Ancient City of Ephesus through the lower gate. The illuminated ruins create a completely different atmosphere from daytime visits. Stroll along Harbour Street, admire the impressive Great Theatre, and marvel at the iconic Library of Celsus glowing against the night sky. Continue to the Temple of Hadrian, where the evening lights reveal stunning architectural details.

With cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and unforgettable photo opportunities, this tour focuses on enjoying the atmosphere of Ephesus after dark. After your visit, relax during the comfortable return journey to Marmaris, arriving around 1:00 AM with wonderful memories of an extraordinary evening.

The ceramic workshop was an unexpected bonus where we learned about traditional Turkish craftsmanship. Ephesus at night was absolutely magical. The lighting created a unique atmosphere, especially around the Library of Celsus and the Temple of Hadrian. We took so many beautiful photos. Everything was perfectly arranged.

My husband and I took the "Ephesus by Night" tour. Overall, we really enjoyed the trip. Ephesus itself is unforgettable in the evening, and it's much more pleasant to stroll around at that time than during the day. A special thank you to our guide, a very pleasant woman who provided engaging information and was always attentive to the group. Our only downsides were the rather long drive and the high cost of entrance tickets. Otherwise, the organization was excellent; everything went smoothly and without a hitch. Our impressions were truly positive, so we give her a solid 5.
