About This Activity

Your adventure begins with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk. As you travel northward, anticipate the rich tapestry of history that awaits in Pergamon, a city that flourished from the Stone Age through the Classical period. Upon arrival, you'll explore the Acropolis, perched majestically atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Here, delve into the remnants of the Altar of Zeus, the Temple of Trajan, and the once-grand Library of Pergamon, which rivaled Alexandria's in its prime.

Following your exploration of the Acropolis, the tour proceeds to the Asklepion, an ancient medical center dedicated to Asclepius, the god of healing. This sanctuary was a beacon of medical knowledge in antiquity, where luminaries like Galen practiced. Wander through the sacred pathways, treatment rooms, and the theater, gaining insight into early therapeutic practices and the spiritual aspects of ancient medicine.

Midway through your journey, indulge in a delectable lunch at a local Turkish restaurant in Bergama. Experience the rich flavors of regional dishes, providing a delightful interlude before continuing your historical exploration.

Throughout the tour, benefit from the expertise of your English-speaking guide, who will enrich your experience with historical context, intriguing anecdotes, and personalized attention. Sergio arrived exactly on time and was both knowledgeable and accommodating throughout the tour. He welcomed our questions and shared his own insights, which added a lot to the experience. I would recommend this tour, even though it involves a 1.5 hour drive each way from Izmir.

The tour was excellent. Emre, our guide, was very knowledgeable not just about the sites we visited but also about how they connected to other places we had seen in Turkey. His friendly attitude and sense of humor made the day especially enjoyable. The transportation was comfortable, and our driver was polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The trip was absolutely fantastic! Our guide Gurkan, the vehicle and driver, the food, and the sights were all excellent. I highly recommend it! I was a bit hesitant at first since I hadn’t booked tours with local companies before, but everything went smoothly. The booking was quick and convenient, everything ran on time, and the price was fair. Thank you!
