This full-day experience offers travelers a unique blend of cultural discovery and tranquil exploration, creating memories that last a lifetime.

Your day begins at approximately 8:30 AM with a convenient hotel pickup in the vibrant Hanoi Old Quarter. Sit back and relax during a scenic two-hour drive through Vietnam’s picturesque countryside. As you leave the city behind, take in views of verdant rice fields, rolling hills, and quaint rural villages that provide a glimpse into the country’s heartland.

Upon arriving at the Yen stream, embark on a tranquil rowboat journey through emerald waters flanked by lush mountains and tranquil marshlands. This hour-long ride offers moments of reflection as you glide through the serene landscape. Marvel at the harmony between nature and spirituality as the soft sound of oars blends with the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves.

Once you reach Thien Tru harbor, explore the intricate Buddhist architecture and immerse yourself in the sacred atmosphere of this centuries-old site. The journey to the centerpiece of the complex, Huong Tich Cave, begins here. For adventurous souls, the trek up the mountain is a rewarding climb offering breathtaking views and encounters with local vendors along the path. Alternatively, the optional cable car ride provides a more leisurely ascent with spectacular aerial perspectives of the lush valley below.

At the top of the mountain, the entrance to Huong Tich Cave welcomes you with its dramatic natural formations and spiritual energy. Often referred to as the "First-ranking Cave Under the Southern Heavens," this sacred site has been a place of worship and reflection for centuries. Inside, the limestone formations and Buddhist statues create a mystical ambiance that captivates all who visit.

After descending the mountain, indulge in a hearty lunch of traditional Vietnamese dishes at a local restaurant nestled at the base. From fragrant stir-fried vegetables to succulent meats and fresh spring rolls, the meal offers an authentic taste of Vietnam’s rich culinary heritage.

The afternoon continues with a visit to the Heaven Kitchen Pagoda, a historic and tranquil site renowned for its exquisite Le Dynasty architecture. Learn about the ancient Buddhist traditions and the spiritual significance of this site, which serves as a testament to Vietnam’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.

As your day draws to a close, reboard the rowboat for another peaceful ride back to the pier. The scenic return journey provides a final opportunity to soak in the natural beauty of the Huong Tich mountains. From there, relax during the two-hour drive back to Hanoi, reflecting on the day’s experiences and the timeless allure of Vietnam’s sacred landscapes. We had a very good and well-informed tour guide from whom we learned a great deal about pagodas. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible, with rain persisting all day, though that is something you can never predict. However, the ladies rowing the boats were noticeably discourteous when they considered the gratuity to be insufficient.

The tour ran very smoothly and our guide was excellent. A few of us opted to hike up the mountain, which turned out to be quite a demanding climb, though it was enjoyable. The only issue I faced was due to my own sensitive stomach.

The tour matched the online description perfectly. That said, the amount of walking and the number of steps could be communicated more clearly, as some people in our group appeared unprepared for it. I chose to buy a cable car ticket on the day itself. Our guide was exceptionally approachable and hospitable, and he spoke English very well.

Our guide, Hui, was incredibly energetic and shared a wealth of fascinating information with us, all while keeping a attentive eye on the entire group. The group size was small and the bus was very comfortable. Be sure to bring ample mosquito repellent, as they can bite even through long trousers.
