The hike was quite exhausting, especially for me as I’m not an experienced hiker, but the organizers made the atmosphere enjoyable and guided the trip very well. A big thanks to Magdi, Aya, Jamal, and Mr. A for making this experience so memorable. They were all incredibly kind and helpful in every way.

An unforgettable experience! Witnessing the sunrise from the summit is truly magical and has a mystical energy. The journey is challenging on your own, but using camels makes the climb easier. The organization was excellent—they picked us up from our hotel, guided us, and dropped us back at our door. Our group was called “Ramses,” and we stayed together throughout the trek. Our guide, Jimmy, was fantastic, taking great care of us and ensuring we were well looked after. We are already looking forward to returning to Mount Sinai, especially since there is accommodation at the top. Next time, we plan to spend two days there for a proper retreat. I highly recommend this experience with complete confidence.

The transportation to and from the site was fine. The hike itself is extremely challenging. Even if you are fairly fit, I recommend taking a camel for the first part of the climb if you have any respiratory issues, as I did. In Jan 2025, the cost was around $25. The guides and shops usually accept Euros or US Dollars, provided the bills are not damaged. The experience is definitely worth it. The guides maintain a fast pace up the mountain, and with the thinner air, I realized I couldn’t keep up, so I opted for a camel. You reach the summit early to secure a great view of the sunrise. After descending, there’s a short tour of the monastery. Along the trail, Bedouin children may approach you trying to sell items or asking for money.
