About This Activity

Antalya, known as the pearl of the Mediterranean, is not just a paradise of sun, sea, and sand but also a treasure trove of ancient history and natural beauty. Our Antalya Historical and Ancient City Tour takes you on a fascinating journey through time, exploring some of the region’s most iconic landmarks. From the grandeur of Perge to the serene beauty of Kurşunlu Waterfall, this tour offers an unforgettable experience for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Our journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel. After a comfortable 45-minute drive in our air-conditioned bus, we arrive at the ancient city of Perge. Known for its well-preserved ruins and rich history, Perge was once a bustling Roman city and an important stop on the Silk Road.

Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, you will spend approximately 1.5 hours exploring the city’s remarkable landmarks. Walk along the ancient colonnaded streets, marvel at the grand Roman baths, and capture stunning photos of the monumental city gate. The guide’s insightful commentary brings the history of this ancient metropolis to life, making it a truly immersive experience.

From Perge, we continue our journey to the picturesque town of Side, where we enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. The lunch menu features a variety of Turkish dishes to suit every palate, providing a perfect break before our next exploration.

Side’s charm lies in its unique blend of ancient ruins and a vibrant coastal atmosphere. Our guided tour takes you through the town’s narrow streets to the iconic Apollo Temple, an ancient structure overlooking the sea. The temple’s majestic columns, set against the backdrop of the shimmering Mediterranean, offer a perfect photo opportunity. Side’s ancient theater, agora, and Roman baths are other highlights you can explore during this visit.

After exploring Side, we embark on a short 20-minute drive to the tranquil Kurşunlu Waterfall. Nestled in a lush green forest, this hidden gem provides a refreshing change of pace from the historical sites. You’ll have about 45 minutes to wander the scenic pathways, listen to the soothing sound of cascading water, and take spectacular photos of the waterfall surrounded by rich vegetation.

Kurşunlu’s serene environment makes it an ideal spot for relaxation, allowing you to reconnect with nature before we move on to the final highlight of our tour.

Our last stop is the world-renowned Aspendos Theater, a masterpiece of Roman engineering and one of the best-preserved ancient theaters in the world. Aspendos, built in the 2nd century AD, still stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance of the Roman Empire.

As you step into the theater, you’ll be awestruck by its grandeur and acoustics, which remain unmatched even today. The guide will share fascinating stories about Aspendos, its history, and its role in ancient times. Visitors can climb the seating tiers for panoramic views and imagine the grand performances that once entertained thousands.

After a day filled with exploration, history, and natural beauty, we begin our return journey to Antalya. The comfortable drive allows you to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, bringing this unforgettable experience to a close.

We had an enjoyable day visiting Perge, Aspendos, and Side. The booking process was straightforward, and communicating with the company was easy and hassle free. Our guide, Cengiz, was fantastic. He reminded me of the Turkish uncle everyone wishes they had both humorous and knowledgeable, but without overwhelming us with too many facts that would be hard to remember. I say this as a history graduate who really appreciates this kind of information. My children had a great time, and Cengiz’s engaging commentary kept them entertained throughout the bus rides. We would definitely book with this company again, especially since the price was very reasonable.

I arranged the tour with Eric and would definitely suggest it to others. It was informative, felt very safe throughout, and included a genuine local lunch. The history from the Hellenistic and Roman eras was brought to life, and it was also enjoyable to connect with other travelers from various countries.

What a fantastic tour. I was hesitant at first since I hadn’t booked with them before, but I took a chance and it really paid off. We ended up going on two separate tours: one focused on the history of Antalya and another exploring the city. The guide on the historical tour was outstanding, full of knowledge and genuinely enjoyable to be around. The city tour guide was also great, making sure we stayed on schedule and sharing helpful details throughout the day. The drivers deserve a mention too. The traffic can be a bit wild, but they navigated everything confidently and safely, clearly experienced behind the wheel. Whenever lunch was included, it wasn’t just a simple snack but a proper, freshly prepared meal at a quality local restaurant. You really get an authentic sense of the culture throughout the tour. When they say they will pick you up at 8:30, they are right on time. If you are unsure about booking, take the chance. It turned out to be a highlight of the trip.

This tour was fantastic! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. He organized the day perfectly, allowing us to spend more time at each location instead of being stuck in traffic on the bus. He shared helpful information and gave us plenty of free time to explore, take photos, and enjoy ourselves. The food, starting with a cold buffet and continuing with the main course, was also excellent. I highly recommend this tour!
